Get notified
Get a notification when Jinion waits for you or finishes a long turn while you're in another window.
While the terminal window isn't focused, Jinion notifies you when:
- it waits for you: a question, a permission request, or a plan to review;
- a turn of 15 seconds or more ends;
- a background task ends.
The notification says what it is about:
jinion · api: Done with “add rate limiting” after 1m 12s.Nothing pops up while you're watching the window, since the terminal tells Jinion when it gains and loses focus.
Terminal support
The notification is your terminal's own, so it needs a terminal that supports one:
| Terminal | How |
|---|---|
| Ghostty, WezTerm, Warp, foot, rxvt | Desktop notification (OSC 777) |
| iTerm2 | Desktop notification (OSC 9) |
| kitty | Desktop notification (OSC 99) |
| Others, and inside tmux or screen | The terminal bell |
Turn them off
/notifications offJinion says Notifications are off. /notifications on turns them back on. /notifications on turns them back on and
says which way this terminal notifies: a desktop notification, or the terminal bell. /notifications alone switches.
The choice applies in every project.
