Resume a conversation
Pick up an earlier conversation where it left off, give it a title, or start a new one.
Every conversation is saved after each turn, per project. Nothing is lost when you quit.
Pick one up
/resume lists the project's other conversations by title, newest first. Type to filter by title, then press enter.
The agent picks up where it left off and remembers what was said.
+- Resume 4 conversations -----------------------------------------------------------------+ | search Type to filter | +------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------+ | > Flaky checkout e2e test 2h ago | | 2 messages · "the checkout e2e test fails every few runs, can you find out why?" | | Migrate auth to OIDC yesterday | | 4 messages · "plan the migration from our session cookies to OIDC" | | Billing reconciliation job 3d ago | | 2 messages · "how does the nightly billing reconciliation work?" | | Speed up the CI cache 1w ago | | 2 messages · "CI takes 14 minutes, most of it installing dependencies" | | | +------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------+ | Enter resume · Up/Down move · PgUp/PgDn page · Esc close | +------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------+
Under each title are the number of messages and your first message. /resume oidc opens the list already filtered.
A conversation that worked in a worktree shows worktree swift-running-fox and goes back into it.
To open the last conversation straight away, start Jinion with -c or --continue:
jinion -cTitles
Jinion gives each conversation a title of a few words, such as Flaky checkout e2e test, once the first turn ends.
Until then, the title is the first line of your first message.
As the conversation moves on, Jinion names it again, so the title keeps up with the work: when the messages you have sent double, after 20 minutes with new ones, and when you accept a plan.
The title shows in /resume and on the right of the status line.
Rename a conversation
To give the conversation a title of your own, type /rename and the title:
/rename checkout flakeJinion says Renamed the conversation to “checkout flake”. A title you give stays: Jinion doesn't rename the
conversation again.
/rename alone has Jinion name the conversation now from what it is about, and it goes on naming it as the
conversation moves on.
Start a new one
/clear, or /new, saves the current conversation and starts a new one. What runs in the
background stops.
