Switch models and accounts
Pick the model and how much effort it puts in, and add, switch, sign in again and remove Claude accounts.
Pick a model
/model lists the models your account can use. up and down pick the model, left and right its effort, and
enter switches.
+- Model Claude ---------------------------------------------------------------------------+ | effort default low medium high xhigh max | +------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------+ | > 1. Opus 5.5 current | | Most capable, for complex work | | 2. Sonnet 5 | | Fast and capable, for everyday work | | 3. Haiku 4.5 | | Fastest, for quick answers | +------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------+ | Enter select · Up/Down model · Left/Right effort · Esc cancel | +------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------+
The new model applies from the next request, and later sessions start with it. Without a choice, Jinion uses Opus at the model's default effort.
To switch straight away:
/model sonnetSet the effort
Effort is how hard the model thinks before it answers. More effort is slower and uses more of your plan, and helps with hard problems.
/effort high/effort default leaves it to the model, and /effort alone opens the /model panel. Not every model has effort
levels; for one without, the effort row in the panel says the model has no effort setting.
Choose for one run
Flags and environment variables override the saved choice for one run:
jinion --model sonnet --effort low| Flag | Variable |
|---|---|
--model, -m | JINION_MODEL |
--effort, -e | JINION_EFFORT |
Switch accounts
If you have more than one Claude login, such as a personal and a work one, /account lists them and switches between
them.
+- Account Claude -------------------------------------------------------------------------+ | > 1. default current | | me@example.com · Max · 5h 8% · 7d 20% just now | | 2. work | | ACME · Team · me@acme.dev · 5h 31% · 7d 12% 2h ago | | 3. client | | Not signed in; press enter to sign in | | 4. Add an account | | Signs another login in, in the browser | +------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------+ | Enter switch · l sign in again · d remove · Up/Down move · Esc close | +------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------+
Each account shows who it is signed in as and, once you have used it, its plan limits when last seen. Press enter on
one to switch to it. A conversation in progress carries on under the other account. The switch happens between turns,
so finish or interrupt the current one first.
/account work switches straight away, and later sessions start with the account you picked.
The banner shows who you're signed in as: the organization for a team plan, such as ACME · Team, and the email for a
personal one, such as me@example.com · Max. To see it in the status line too, turn on the Account segment in
/statusline.
Add an account
Pick Add an account in /account, type a name such as work and press enter. Or type /account add work. A
name has letters, digits, - or _, up to 32 characters.
Jinion opens the sign-in in your browser:
+- Account work ---------------------------------------------------------------------------+ | Signing in to work. Finish it in your browser. | | If the browser didn't open: https://claude.ai/oauth/authorize?code=true&client_id=… | | | | Paste the code the browser shows: code | +------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------+ | Enter send · Esc cancel | +------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------+
Sign in, paste the code the browser shows and press enter. Jinion never sees your password. When it's done, Jinion
says Signed in to work as me@acme.dev. Pick it here to switch. and the account is in the list.
The default account is the Claude login already on your machine.
Sign in again
When a login has expired or was signed out, its account shows Not signed in; press enter to sign in. Press enter on
it to sign in again. To sign in again to an account that is still signed in, for example with another login, press l
on it, or type /account add work.
Signing in again to the account in use doesn't end the conversation: Jinion says
Signed in to work again as me@acme.dev. The conversation carries on with the new login. If a turn is running, the
new login takes over when it ends.
Remove an account
Move to the account in /account and press d. The row shows press d again to remove; press d again, or any other
key to keep it. Jinion signs the account out and removes it, and says
Removed the work account and signed it out. Its conversations stay.
/account remove work does the same without asking.
Two accounts can't be removed:
- the one in use, which shows
in use; switch to another account first; default, which showsClaude's own login stays; l signs in again.
