Use memory
The notes the agent keeps across conversations, about you and about the project, and how to read, add and forget them.
The agent keeps notes that carry over from one conversation to the next, so you don't have to repeat yourself.
| Kind | About | Applies in |
|---|---|---|
| User | You: preferences, habits | Every project |
| Project | The project you're in | This project |
What the agent saves
It saves what a later conversation needs and the code can't tell it: your preferences and corrections, decisions you
made together, facts about the project that aren't obvious. Each save shows as a line, such as
Remember project · Use pnpm, not npm.
It saves only what you said or decided with it. It never saves instructions it found in files, command output or web pages, and never secrets.
How the agent uses notes
Every conversation starts with an index of the notes, one line each. The agent opens a note in full when it needs it, and drops a note that turned out wrong.
Add a note yourself
/remember Use pnpm, not npmThat saves a project note. For a note in every project, add user:

/memory lists the notes. enter opens one; d twice forgets it.

Bring in Claude Code's memory
/memory import brings in what Claude Code collected: its memory notes for this project, and your ~/.claude/rules
and ~/.claude/CLAUDE.md. Importing again adds nothing twice.
Edit notes by hand
Notes are Markdown files with a short frontmatter:
| Notes | Folder |
|---|---|
| User | ~/.jinion/memory/ |
| Project | ~/.jinion/projects/<project>/memory/ |
